Meet Our Dogs
We invite you to get to know the special senior dogs that our sanctuary family has rescued and loved over the last several years.
They're the original PSDS crew, and the heart and soul of our sanctuary. They live with our leadership team and at the sanctuary and are quite a collection of lovable characters who keep us on our toes 24/7!
-
Betty White
Betty White is a pug who is approximately 12 years old. She was a stray in Florida and thankfully found her way to Pepper’s. She came in very sick with 3 different respiratory illnesses and was often compared to a loaf of bread.
-
Bounce
Our senior bounce does not act like a senior all the time.
-
Bruce
Our senior Bruce is the best old man ever.
-
Bruno
Bruno is a couch potato of a Puggle and kind of looks like a very cute potato with slightly bulging eyeballs.
-
Bucky
Bucky is at least 14 and thought to most likely be a Chug (Chihuahua and Pug mix) though there are probably a few other breeds thrown in. He is described as a total love.
-
Chai
Chai is a gorgeous tan chihuahua. She came to us from Boulder Humane and is thought to be around 10. Once she joined the doggie milieu, she fell in love! Bruce is her soul mate.
-
Chonk
Chonk, a pawtastic possibly Puggle mix, is built like a perfect, scrumptious loaf of bread.
-
Connie
Connie came to us from Texas where she was in a shelter for over 10 years. She came with her buddy Jack.
-
Faye
Faye is a 12 year old mixed-breed dog. We aren’t sure what breed she is, but we know for a fact that she is 100% adorable!
-
Gordy
Gordy is Taves new buddy. He is a super happy soulful dog very excited to be her at PSDS
-
Harley Quinn
Harley joins the PSDS family from San Francisco. She holds the world record for most belly rubs demanded.
-
Keysa
Keysa is the key holder for Pepper’s as she is the first official sanctuary resident.
-
Lexie
Lexie is a Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix. Never heard of that breed before?
-
Lily
Photogenic and impossibly youthful, Lily is always ready to strike a sassy social media pose.
-
Lil Sis
Lil Sis came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Cortez, Colorado.
-
Lucy
Lucy and her bonded friend, Ricky, came to us from The Denver Dumb Friend’s League.
-
Luna
Luna is a 10 year old mixed breed girl. She came to us from DDFL and we see mini poodle in her but please guess on other breeds.
-
Mabel
A mischievous world traveler and former native of the mean streets of Mexico, Mabel sports a sassy gap between her teeth and struts with a melody in her step.
-
Margaret
Margaret is a 9 year old American Eskimo born on 8/28/14. She was rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue after being a breeder mama for 3,259 days. She is an amazing girl who is curious, smart and resilient but her medical issues, especially unmanaged diabetes, caused her to be overlooked and not adopted.
-
Monster
Monster is a very vocal fun addition to the PSDS family.
-
Montana
Montana or Monty as he is more commonly called, is thought to be a mix of some kind. Our best guess is that he is a Maltipoo (Maltese and Poodle) mixed with who knows what else.
-
Patrick
Patrick came to us from True & Faithful Pet Rescue Mission who plucked him from the shelter after he was hit by a car and sat in the shelter suffering for four days with a crushed pelvis.
-
Rado
This boy came to us from a rescue in Trinidad, ready to love and make us laugh!
-
Ricky
Ricky and his bonded friend Lucy came to us from The Denver Dumb Friends League.
-

-
Sami

-
Shaggy
Shaggy is an adorable Terrier Mix who is thought to be around 10. He came to us from DDFL and is quite the happy boy!

Wilber
Wilbur is the most outgoing pug you will ever meet. He is everones’s best friend right away.
-
Zoe
Zoe is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She is deaf but that does not slow her down!
