We provide a compassionate, loving, lifelong home where elderly dogs are cared for during their good days, bad days, and last days.

When we say all of the days, we mean it. Once a senior dog in need finds their way to Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary, we provide care for them through their last day. From walks, snuggles, and playtime to keep them happy and engaged to routine veterinary exams, necessary medications, and hospice care to keep them safe and comfortable, we exist to compassionately and lovingly provide it all, every single day.

We Provide In-Need Senior Dogs A Lifetime of Love

and we created Pepper's Senior Dog Sanctuary to be:

An Animal Sanctuary and Hands-On Community Partner

Along with serving as a safe haven and retirement home for senior dogs who can’t find homes, we are a valuable community resource. Our dogs still have so much love to give and we partner with service organizations to pair them up with human friends. To date, we’ve brought our senior dogs to events sponsored by awareness organizations focusing on autism, sobriety, veteran’s needs, and senior citizens groups. When individuals have the chance to interact with our senior dogs, it’s truly therapeutic for everyone.

The Ultimate Retirement Community

We offer senior dogs a home for life—and it’s a beautiful place to call home. Unlike some other senior dog rescues, our dogs are not for adoption. We are a true sanctuary and we only accept senior dogs from shelters, rescue groups, and dedicated dog care facilities. Once they’re on our spacious 50-acre property in beautiful Roxborough, Colorado, they live out their days with superior care, love, comfort, and tail-wagging

A Mission-Driven Organization Welcoming Volunteers & Donations

While the sanctuary is supported financially in part by our founders, we are powered by individual donations, gifts, and volunteers. More money = more mission, meaning that the more people who support the sanctuary, the more seniors we can get out of local shelters, leaving space for other dogs in need and ultimately lowering euthanasia of dogs who deserve a second ‘leash on life’ in our community.

Become a Part of Pepper's Senior Dog Sanctuary Family

We do not accept dogs via owner surrender or drop-offs. We only adopt dogs from area shelters and rescues, helping to ease the burden of overcrowding at shelters.

While we commit to senior dogs through their good days, bad days and last days, there are so many ways for you
to help our resident senior dogs. We hope that you will consider joining us in our mission of helping senior dogs in need find the love, comfort, safety, and peace that they truly have earned, and deserve.
