Jesse leads community engagement, manages station partnerships, and champions inclusivity at 9NEWS. Jesse was the 2021 9NEWS Leader of the Year, which is presented by the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. The award is peer-nominated and honors leaders in the community who have made significant contributions to the well-being and development of Colorado.

He is also a recipient of the Eric J. Duran Community Service Award, which honors a person of Latino descent who has made a positive impact in the Denver community. Jesse proudly serves on the board of directors for Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary (PSDS). He brings more than thirty years of experience in nonprofit leadership to the organization along with a passion for animal welfare and shelter management.

As an award-winning Denver community member, Jesse is the Executive Director of Social Responsibility and Community Affairs at 9NEWS. He leads community engagement, manages station partnerships, and champions inclusivity.

In addition to PSDS, Jesse also serves on the board of directors for Firefly Autism, of which he is the former CEO and Executive Director. Throughout his professional career in non-profit management, he’s been honored to work with organizations and serve on a variety of boards including the Colorado Aids Project, Clinica Tepeyac, Kemp Foundation, Latina Safehouse, Newsed, Adams Camp, MSU President's Cabinet Food Bank of the Rockies, 9Health 365, Caring for Denver Foundation, City Year of Denver, and Denver Urban Gardens.

He is committed to relationship-building in the non-profit space and serves as a valuable resource to PSDS.
